Eye Exam:

Using tried and tested techniques and the latest technology we provide a comprehensive 30 minute eye examination performed by one of our fully qualified and experienced optometrists. Some examinations may take longer if extra specific tests are recommended or required.
1. Pre Test Checks
An optical assistant will go through all the preliminary aspects of your eye examination, confirming your current situation, and using the latest technology to determine any current spectacles or contact lenses.
2. The Consulting Room
After the preliminary tests, the examination moves into the optometrist's consulting room, who will have the details of the pre-screening checks, and will require more information such as medical history.
3. The Examination
The optometrist will proceed through a series of individual tests to determine the status of your eyes.
-
Colour Vision, Eye Movement Co-ordination
-
Refraction for eye focus accuracy
-
A Health Check of the eyes inc. Glaucoma Screening
Each test is used to determine the various characteristics of your eye and give a valuble insight into some general health disorders, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Some will involve the use of technology, others will be familiar tests using more simple equipment.
Throughout your test the optometrist will discuss what they are doing and explain any queries you may have.

4. The Results
Following your examination the optometrist will have written your prescription, and will be happy to explain the results with you.
From which they will then make any recommendations and describe the best options available to you.
